Tall, sod forming bunchgrass with broad dull green leaves and rusty-brown, feathery seed heads. Fall colours of this beautiful grass range from deep yellow to purple. An important species in the Tallgrass Prairie. Said by some that presence of this grass is an indication of true tallgrass prairie.
