characteristics

Usually found growing among other grasses or shrubs. Upright with few leaves. Three flowered spikelets bloom in an open panicle. Produces very little seed. Spread is by fairly deep rhizomes. Distinctive vanilla scent. Virtually disappears after seed ripens. Difficult to get started.
