characteristics

Sprawling shrub with grey-green foliage. Under side of leaves are silvery white. Very aromatic dark purple flowers with bright orange pistils.

Slow growing.

77,000 seeds/pound; starts from seed, bare root, cuttings. Requires three or four years before planting out.

habitat

Prefers sandy soil; will grow in well-drained clay soils. Likes slopes.
